Dining at Rumors

Long known for its nightlife, Rumors has revamped its food program to outstanding customer reviews. (See Testimonials at the bottom of this page.) While not forgetting our saloon heritage, we have developed a value-priced Italian-American Chops House menu around the talent of our two young chefs, Zach Rice and Aaron Salita. Our Senior Chef, Ibrahim Sessay, appointed Zach Chef de Cuisine, and Aaron Sous Chef.

Zach came to us from Charleston, South Carolina, and prior he trained and lived in Italy. Aaron, a graduate of of L'Academie de Cuisine, worked at Pralines in Bethesda and trained as an intern with the best at Komi and Volt. With chef knife tattoos on their forearms and fire in their belly for their craft, their enthusiasm comes through to you on the plate. Enjoy your meal!

While visiting DC, Rumors caught our eye...there was outdoor seating, and it was a lovely night for eating outdoors. The food was very good, the servings were ample, and the price was realistic. Rumors seems to have the complete package ensuring its continued success!

Rumors is conveniently located a few blocks from two Metro stations (Farragut North-Red Line and Farragut West-Yellow Line). The menu is American-based and includes a variety of meals - from sandwiches to salads to entree dishes. Price is quite affordable and service is friendly. It has a patio to enjoy an outside meal on a pleasant Washington day.

Fantastic food, great service. No wonder the locals rave about it. The crabcakes were superb - no filler, just 100% crab meat. The beef was beautifully aged and cooked to perfection. The scallops were fresh and cooked perfectly. A great atmosphere and a must visit spot in D.C.

Really good food, a bit unexpected! The manager was VERY friendly and provided recommendations on the menu. My husband really enjoyed the steak and crabcakes (the crabcakes were a 10 out of 10 and the steak was cooked perfectly). We enjoyed it and want to say "Thanks Rumors (and Mike)" for a great treat on our trip.

Fantastic food, great welcome. We visited twice in one week. We got a very warm welcome from the manager. Staff were very attentive and on the second visit we got free desserts. The crabcakes and steak are outstanding as is the chowder and Friday fish special. We went as a family with teenagers and had a great night out on both occasions.
